In addition to an excellent quality-price ratio, the Alhambra Premier Pro Madagascar has been made with the best wood. Its reddish color gives it a strong character and an aesthetic distinction. When the musician has this instrument in his hands, he knows that he’s holding something unique, but without losing that typical Alhambra sense of safety: being able to press a note supported, putting the guitar to the limit and having a clean sound as a result.
Its materials
In addition to solid Madagascar in the back and sides, a high quality cedar top, a Schaller Grand Tune Classic Hauser headstock and bone in the saddle were used to make this instrument. The finish of the Premier Pro Madagascar model has been made in gloss, using nitrocellulose lacquer varnish for the lid.
The nitrous lacquer varnish (nitrocellulose lacquer) is a finish that offers greater flexibility and therefore, greater capacity of vibration to the lid and contributes directly to the sound of the guitar. This model also incorporates a twelve-hole bridge where the strings are easier to place.
A new bracing design
They’ve used a new bracing design for the configuration of the harmonic bars. It contributes to satisfy the demands of the guitarists of today in terms of sound, but always maintaining the tradition of the Spanish guitar.

The guitar is as good as I expected. Workmanship is very nice, which Alhambra is famous for, with the signature of Javier Mengual as well.
Wood material is excellent. The grain lines of this cedar soundboard is almost as straight as a ruler, very dense and very evenly-distributed throughout the entire soundboard from the centre to the two edges.
This guitar is very vibrant and projection is loud. Tonally, it is very Spanish. (Of course, it is a Spanish guitar! My repertoire is mainly Spanish and I love this sound), and the Madagascar Rosewood definitely contributed to the timbre.
Playability – Everything is straight, saddle height is compensated and action is set low, resulting easy playability.
If I have to be picky, it would be the slightly dull 3rd G string with the standard D’Addario EXP44 that came with it. This can easily be solved by changing the third string to a Savrez carbon string. May try the Savarez 527R copper wound third string when I get one.
I let the guitar and strings settled for the last couple of days and it is slowly turning into a wonderful instrument.
