What are the advantages of Headless Guitars?

Headless guitars are simply guitars without a headstock. And what does this imply? What are the differences with a conventional guitar?

  • They are aesthetically groundbreaking
  • They are much lighter
  • Restringing is easier
  • They are easier to tune

Although this design is not new, since it was conceived in the 1980s, it should be noted that even today its aesthetics still seem groundbreaking, compared to conventional design, which has been practically the same for a century.

These types of guitars move the tuning components to the bridge, allowing for an even distribution of weight throughout the length of the guitar. And here is one of its main advantages: they are usually much lighter than conventional guitars. Those of us who suffer from back pain greatly appreciate it.

Also, the strings are much easier to place. To string a guitar without a headstock,  simply slide the string through the bridge to the other end of the fretboard, screw it on both ends, and tune it.
