Part of the exclusive Prestige line, introduced by Ibanez in 2007, this SA2160FM is a solid body mahogany guitar with a flamed maple top 15mm thick that sets the tone apart from other guitars with a much thinner one. Its neck is made of five layers of maple and bubinga, while the fingerboard is constructed of rosewood, combining to offer the great playability that has always characterized Ibanez guitars.
This series replaced the SA2120FM, the main difference being the pickup configuration. In this case, these are two DiMarzio IBZ pickups on the neck and a DiMarzio IBZ True Duo Bucker on the bridge, giving the guitar great versatility and a unique tone.
Ibanez is a company whose history dates back to the 19th century when the Spanish luthier Salvador Ibañez became very famous in Japan thanks to the quality of his guitars. Years later, after the closure of the activity by the Spanish, the Japanese Hoshino Gakki bought the rights to the brand and founded Ibanez, taking the company to a enormous success, especially after great figures such as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert or John Petrucci started using their models.
