The SG Gibson basses has been played but people such as Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones or Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth, with Jack Bruce of Cream probably being its most notable owner. Its design has hardly changed since it was first conceived in the early 1960s: it is currently marketed without the Varitone switch and with 3 control knobs instead of 4. But many improvements have been introduced, such as a better bridge for keeping intonation and sustain, denser rosewood on the fingerboard, more robust circuitry, and improved feel to make it much more comfortable to play. In addition, this one you see in the photos is short scale, which makes it not only much easier to play, but also provides a more defined and round sound, perfect for those looking for a quality studio bass with great sound.
