Description

Gordon Summer, better known as ‘Sting‘, formed one of the most successful bands of the 80s, ‘The Police‘, mixing reggae and punk. A few decades later, with 17 Grammy Awards behind him, Sting has become one of the most successful musicians in history.

During all this time, in thousands of concerts and dozens of ‘hits’, he has always been accompanied by his 1957 P-Bass, which, he says, he likes its special growl and its “response” to playing. The one you see in the images is an exact replica made by Abe Rittenhouse in his Florida workshop, in which he has taken into account even the smallest detail.

This is a totally solid bass with an ash body. Its neck and fingerboard are made of maple and it comes with a bone nut. It only has one pickup, but of a quality beyond doubt. We’re talking about a 1950s Lollar P-Bass replica, but with two major improvements: an extended frequency response and better string balance.

Without a doubt, an especially attractive bass for Sting fans, but also for those looking for the original sound of the late 50s.
