Let us introduce you to the PRS SE Custom Limited Edition 2018. We’re talking about an exclusive Fanatic Guitars design. A totally limited edition that you’ll be able to find in two versions: Gray Black and Tobacco Sunburst. The units are numbered # 1/50.
These PRS Guitars of limited series differ from the others, because its body is of two pieces, instead of the three pieces of wood from which the original SEs are formed. By having two pieces of a larger amount of wood, there is more stability to the sound, more sonority, more resonance, more sustain and, in the end, we obtain a more compact, more finished sound.
In the sound button of this limited series, you can pass the single and double pickups, so that you can get the sound of a Les Paul and a Stratocaster.
This series is a version of the Custom 24, one of the benchmark models that PRS makes. We have chosen this one because you can have 24 frets to achieve maximum accessibility and comfort on one side and then with the pickup selector and the switch to make single and double pickups, you can sound like a Telecaster, Stratocaster, Humbucker, Single Coil…
We could say that within the Custom 24 Series, this would be the most versatile one.
Its price-quality ratio is impressive. With a rosewood fretboard, bird inlays (identifying the high-end PRS models) and a binding finish.
Its frets measure is medium-jumbo. In this way it is very easy to do bendings and apply more modern techniques of ligaments and solos without too much physical wear.
While designing this electric guitar, special emphasis was placed on the wood of the body.
It’s the first time this is done with guitars of this price range. The benefits that this guitar gives you would be equivalent to those of a 50% -70% more expensive guitar.
In total we can count four different woods in this guitar model: rosewood on the fingerboard, maple on the body lid, mahogany on the bottom and a different type of mahogany on the neck.
This distinction of mahogany in the body and the neck is due to the fact that we looked for a lighter wood for the body to be able to interfere less in the balance of the instrument. In this way we have a light body while maintaining the density of the neck.
