On a wood sourcing trip to India in 1997, Jean Larrivée came to find over 150 sets of the most extraordinary Rosewood he’d ever seen. They were shipped to Vancouver, stacked, and put away for over a decade and a half. That was until 2013 when Larrivée released 51 of the finest in the series that came to be known as the “Crazy Rosewood”. Each set honored with a name that reflected the charisma it projected.
But the extraordinary thing about this guitar doesn’t end there. In addition to its exclusive and beautiful Indian Rosewood used in its backs and sides, its top is built in a type of Sitka spruce called ‘Moonwood’, since it is cut on dates that coincide with certain lunar periods, following thus an ancestral tradition among European luthiers who assure that this influences the quality and, therefore, the sound. No doubt this is an exclusive and very special piece of art. Only available on Fanatic Guitars.
