The friendship between Robert Benedetto and Frank Vignola dates back a few decades. Two lives dedicated to jazz and, specifically, to jazz guitar. The first building this type of instrument since 1968, the other playing around the world to become one of the leading figures on the scene. According to Vignola himself, this Benedetto signature was the last model that the manufacturer designed before selling his company in the early 2000s. This one that you see in the images belongs to a limited edition of 100 units worldwide. We have one.
This is an archtop guitar with two-piece mahogany back and sides and a Sitka spruce top, with an ebony fingerboard and mahogany neck. The highlight is its beautiful Abalone inlay on the 12th fret. A guitar designed by Benedetto who has decades of experience building instruments of the highest quality for Jazz figures like Howard Alden, Cal Collins, Jimmy Bruno, Joe Diorio, John Pizzarelli, Ron Eschete, Johnny Smith, Jack Wilkins, Martin Taylor, Kenny Burrell and, of course, Frank Vignola.
